$32,000 salary

people still make under $40,000/year in new york city? i'm talking full time, professional adults (regardless of age), that seems unreal and unfair. i don't care if it is an entry level position to live in new york city is expensive and i'm not saying pent house living...i'm talking 1 bedroom converted to a 3 bedroom living. i asked around and discovered that many folks were making $15/hour or about $32,000/year and started playing with numbers.

that's $123 extra dollars a paycheck to live, save, attempt to have a social life etc. so tell me am i missing something? did i mess up on math? not to mention i completely low balled on expenses so some angry employer can't argue unfairness. again this is just based off new york city living but i have friends in new york city making this kind of money. not cool.
