size clearly doesn't matter in the eyes of our little girl. i guess after fighting for her life she's showing the world who the boss is! the big dogs must sense something because they just let her go to town on them ha!
do unto your neighbor
another weekend another adventure! this weekend we hopped in the car and headed north for another city escape. today we found ourselves in tarrtyown and it was just darling! we had no direction just found main street, parked the car, and got to exploring. a few minutes into our exploration charlie found a water bowl outside and adorable little shop (nine streets new york) and thank god for that because we hit the jackpot there! besides smelling absolutely amazing and having amazing products (mostly for the home with a few stationary and jewelry pieces) the owner was the sweetest most cutest person ever. we walked in and she showed us and charlie lots of love, attention and engaged in genuine conversation, it was like we were neighbors. she also answered all questions we had about the products that she hand picked for her shop which maser her very knowledgable and passionate...every piece was picked with love. i obviously went straight for the candles and stationary (my loves) while the boyfriend was drooling over some really awesome doggy gear (collars and leashes by). we picked out a candle and a new stylish leash for charlie then chatted it up at the register with esther, her telling us about her pregnancy us telling her about our charlie's story. after we made our purchases esther reached into the bucket of amazing hand crafted collars by "found my animal" and insisted that we take the matching collar to the leash we purchased..."it'll make me so happy if you do" we gave her a big thank you and had to drag charlie out the store (guess she got attached!) we walked our stylish behinds around town and grabbed a cup of iced coffee and searched for the pet store esther had mentioned after a few minutes with no luck we paid esther another visit to ask for directions. the doll google mapped it for us but in doing so realized they had closed 20 minutes earlier...so she called up the owner directly and had her open the shop for us...i mean, can you even? at the pet shop (bark and meow) charlie was having a love fest with a beautiful black lab who was quadruple her size while we picked out some fun new treats. this time it was the pet store owner who was showering us with attention; asking us a million and one questions about charlie to ensure we picked the perfect treats. $78 later we walked out and of course we picked up a gift for esther's doggies too as a token of our appreciation.

charlie!
so i have been a bit mia...sorry! i have been working on a very exciting project, trying to prioritize the important things in life, and of course taking care of charlie. well, well my friends after numerous nights at the hospital, thousands of dollars in bills, countless injections and tube feedings our girl made it! she put up a tough fight with us and with all the good vibes it's no surprise that she laughed in the face of "a 10% chance of living!". now our little momma is running around like a loca and showering us and everyone she encounters with lots of love (aka licks...something i'm still not used to). we've introduced her to a whole new world of people, doggies, parks, and most recently a doggie beach and a winery (our girl loves our love of wine). so thank you to everyone for all the love, well wishes and good vibes...they went a long way! and after putting up a fight with petco they took care of what they needed to as well! moral of the story: fight for what you believe in!
you can check out charlie's daily doings on my instagram...she's pretty much flooding my feed even though she hates pics, ugh! charlie on insta
